FAQ

How would you describe yourself as a photographer?

I am a natural light photographer who strives to capture emotive, true to life family pictures. I strive to capture the essence of your family, more than trying to get everyone looking at the camera and smiling at the same time. I believe your kids are perfect just the way they are. Shy/silly/goofy/energetic etc. I am a firm believer that these images are not just for you now, but for you years down the road when you want to remember this crazy, stressful but beautiful time of life.

Where will my session be held?

We will meet at one of the many beautiful outdoor locations our area has to offer. Once you book, you will be e-mailed a questionnaire that will help us determine which of these locations is best for you and your family.

I'm worried about my kids and how they’ll behave…what should I do?

Dear Momma, Can I just say I’ve been where you’ve been? If there is one thing I want you to know right off the bat it is this – I DO NOT expect your children to sit still and pose for me. I want them to be themselves! And if that means being busy, wild, shy, goofy or energetic then bring it on! I feel where you are coming from, and past clients have felt that way too, but what I’ve found is that the images my clients love the most are the candid ones, where they are playing and making memories. Parents – I expect you to come ready to play with your kids! Instead of telling them that they are getting their pictures taken, tell them that they are going to this sweet field/park/trail etc to play as a family, and that your old friend Morgan will be there. Something I know for sure is that tense parents = tense kiddos. Final piece of advice? LET GO, and go play with your kids. I’ll take care of the rest.

What are your sessions like?

I like to begin my sessions by talking to each one of your kiddos, showing them my camera, and really getting down on their level. I do give some very specific guidance, so you won’t be left without direction. Some things we do are stagnant, while others are full of motion and action. We play some games, sometimes sing songs, and cuddle! A lot of what we do in a session is depends on your kids, their ages and temperaments.

Will I get the digital files?

Yes! Absolutely! All my sessions come with high res digital files. Please read on...

One of the biggest reasons I am so passionate about what I do is because I want your children and grandchild to have a tangible printed something to show the future generations.

You have the option to order prints from your gallery should you wish. I highly recommend avoiding budget print shops like Walmart, Costco and Target. Please note that I cannot guarantee print quality unless you order professional quality prints from me.

What should I wear?

This is one of my favorite parts! After you book your session, I will send you my client welcome guide that walks you through EVERYTHING you need to know about what to wear, and what to bring, and how to prep your little people. Don’t sweat it, I got you!

What happens when the weather does not agree?

It’s true, sometimes mother nature just does not work with us. But it’s usually not as bad as you think. Sometimes crazy weather can make for the most amazing light and backdrop! If there is a 50% chance or more of rain or inclement weather, we will reschedule for the earliest date possible that works for both of us. Trust me, you don’t want to shoot in the rain!

How far out are you booked?

I require all sessions to be booked at least 1 month in advance, but am typically booked 3-4 months in advance.

How long does it take to see our images?

Your gallery will be ready within 2-3 weeks of your session date. During the busy summer months, it may be up to 3-4 weeks. We take time to make sure your images are perfect!
